The Top 5 Sites You Need To Get Organised in 2013

Happy New Year and welcome to 2013! If you are anything like me you always start the new year with the best intentions, striving to be more organised, make better use of your time and finally, finally, have a home where there isn't always some chore or other that needs doing. If that describes you, check out the top 5 sites that will help you achieve a state of Organised Nirvana in 2013.

1. Ask Anna (http://http://askannamoseley.com)
As much as I love reading Anna's blog, I think she would scare the pants off me if she was my neighbour because she is so perfect and I am so, well... not. Follow her on Pinterest and read her site for regular and awesome ideas, checklists and suggestions to have a home that would make even Mary Poppins feel a little disheveled in.

2. Organised Mum (www.organisedmum.co.uk)
If you haven't heard of or seen Organised Mum's planners, diaries and calendars yet you may have just found the key to remembering everything you cannot fit into a measly square on a normal calendar. Do you ever look at initials and a time without a clue what you are supposed to be doing, and if E.D. stands for Ellis Dentist or Eamonn's Dinner? With a range of styles to fit pretty much any sort of family (even those without kids) Organised Mum was created by a harassed mother of two young kids. Their products are well designed and road tested and they incorporate feedback into future styles to make them really user friendly. No, I am not on commission, I just really rate their products.

3. Organise My House (http://www.organisemyhouse.com)
This is for those of you who feel like you are drowning in a sea of clutter and stuff, who may grasp the life jacket of order only to have it slip from your grasp after a few seconds, and who need something a little more structured than some pretty Pinterest pictures and a calendar. The site is a little messy but there is real treasure in here, both for members and non-members.

4. How Does She Do It? (http://www.howdoesshedoit.com)
It does not get much more organised than this when it comes to meal planning and grocery list writing. You do need to sign up but membership is free. It is a fabulous place to store your recipes and, though it can be a little labour intensive initially, soon makes creating weekly meal plans and associated shopping list the work of minutes. It can also help you save money, and although some parts of it are specifically American, most of it is relevant for wherever you are in the world.

5. Organizing Made Fun (http://organizingmadefun.blogspot.co.uk)
Finally I am going to direct you to Becky, who promises that organizing can be fun. I am not sure I believe here - satisfying, maybe, but fun? Her Pinterest boards have heaps of great pins and links and (as you would expect) the website is stuffed with useful information to help you figure out where the hell to start. If you're the nosy sort there is a photo tour of Becky's immaculate house and better still, tips on how to fake being organised. Yes, this one is a worth addition to the list.

Good luck with your New Year's resolutions. Remember that it is character building for children to learn to clean and tidy from an early age. You are doing their future flatmate and/or spouse a favour as well as lightening your load.
